UG carillonneur Auke de Boer clocks out. On Tuesday morning, he played an hour-long set of request songs especially for UKrant. Next week he will retire after 25 years.
At the request of staff and students, De Boer played songs like Hotel California (Eagles), Mag ik dan bij jou (Claudia de Breij), In the Summertime (Mungo Jerry), We are the Champions (Queen), Waterloo (ABBA), Paint it Black (Rolling Stones), Eight Days a Week (Beatles) and The Sound of Silence (Simon and Garfunkel).
UKrant climbed up with him one last time in the tower of the Academy Building, to the RUG carillon.
