According to the editors of the Keuzegids Masters, eighteen of the RUG’s master programmes are among the best in the country. This is a remarkable increase compared to last year when nine master programmes were deemed ‘top programme’.

According to the Keuzegids, others top programmes include Astronomy (80), Philosophy (research master, 80), Marketing (76), Mathematics (80), and Linguistics (the research master, 84). The RUG provides a total of 97 masters, 95 of which in Groningen and two in Leeuwarden. In addition to the top masters, ten other RUG master programmes are first in their respective categories.

Some programmes received a failing grade, such as Law & ICT (46), Dutch law (48), Energy and Environmental Sciences (48), and International and Comparative Private Law (40). Where the latter is concerned, students are mainly dissatisfied with the instructors and the amount of contact hours.

Just like last year, the RUG is in fourth place (62) on the list of research universities, just below Nijmegen (62). In the list of the sixteen universities in the Netherlands, the RUG is in seventh place.

The Open University (73.5), Nyenrode (68), and the TIAS Business School (66.5) lead the list. ‘The quality is far well above the average, but so are the costs’, according to the editors.
