Biology student Marit Nygård (21) feels most in her element when she performs live music. With her act called ‘Marit en de Medemensen,’ she had the opportunity to play at Eurosonic Noorderslag last week, in The Social Hub.
Her repertoire includes Dutch-language cabaret pop with folk influences, focusing mainly on themes such as loneliness and love. And she’s had a lot of success: recently, she was nominated for Talent of the Year at Popgala Noord, she’s participated in the talent development project Hit The North, won Drentsch Peil XL, and has taken the stage multiple times at Bevrijdingsfestival Drenthe.
