On Tuesday, the university council approved the increased budget for the new Sports Centre to be built at the Zernike campus. After nine years of planning, the replacement of the now more than fifty-year-old sports complex has finally been greenlit.
Building the new Sports Centre will cost 51.7 million instead of the previously budgeted 30.5 million. The ACLO will cover 5.5 million of that, which will be reflected in the subscription costs. These will increase from the current 60 euros per year to 100 euros per year. The price hike will be implemented sometime before the new centre’s opening in 2027.
