Expertise and experiential knowledge will play a more prominent role within the Advisory Committee for Students with a Functional Impairment. This is because the committee no longer solely provides advice but also actively engages in monitoring and promoting inclusive education.
The new committee will include six student experts with lived experiences. It is intended that they bring knowledge of various types of disabilities and come from different faculties. Five of these positions have already been filled, while recruitment is still ongoing for the last one.
The remaining members of the committee will consist of individuals with expertise in areas such as faculty management, education policy, or student support.
The university council will make the final decision on the change in direction next week.
