A philosophy student from the UG occupied Groningen’s smallest theatre last week, but a judge decided he has to leave. The theatre is located in the monumental regulator house of the former gasworks on Kolendrift.
The owner of the little theatre went bankrupt and left in mid-September. A day later, the student occupied the building and changed the locks. He hoped to turn the building into a small cultural centre, but the Groningen preservation society disagreed and filed charges. On Wednesday, a judge decided that the student had to vacate the building.
