Campus Fryslân gets second bachelor
The Frisian branch of the UG announced this after discussing their plans for the future with representatives of the province of Friesland and the city of Leeuwarden last week Monday.
In addition to the new bachelor programme, they’re also introducing new master programmes and short educational programmes.
It was recently announced that the influx of students for the existing programmes at Campus Fryslân is lagging behind the prognosis. This is a disappointment for the province, which has invested more than 17 million in campus.
Future
In spite of the disappointment, all parties seem to have faith in the new plans. ‘We all foresee a great future for Campus Fryslân, even if it does take longer than we’d originally thought to get the student numbers we want’, the university writes.
In order to map out the future even better, the province, university, and the city will commission an external investigation into the regional impact of the Frisian campus’ research activities as well as various other activities. This investigation should be finished by the end of summer.
