Professor of macromolecular chemistry, Katja Loos, has received a substantial six-million-euro grant from research financier NWO. She will use it for a large research project focused on sustainable inks and coatings.
Plastics have become considerably more sustainable in recent years, but the same cannot be said for ink and thin film layers used in solar panels, paint, or printer ink. Loos aims to change that with her project. She and other participants in the project will concentrate on creating reusable coatings and environmentally friendly pigments.
