Student complex The Village at the Peizerweg, across from the Tuinland garden centre, will be used to accommodate eighty to one hundred asylum seekers.
They will be accommodated on an unoccupied floor, usually used for temporary housing during peak times in August and September, when many international students arrive in Groningen and struggle to find rooms. The Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) is currently preparing the space. It’s anticipated that the asylum seekers will stay there for approximately three months.
