First-years to pay 542 euros in tuition fees next year
First-year students will only have to pay 542 euros in tuition fees next academic year. The same applies to second-year students of a teacher training programme.
So states the Q&A document published by the government on Monday, which addresses the tuition fee reduction promised for next year. In order to compensate students for the consequences of the corona crisis, the statutory fee for next year has been lowered to 1,084 euros.
For students who already receive a discount on the statutory rate, such as first-year students and students in the first two years of a teacher training programme, this is an extra windfall. Initially, it was unclear whether they would receive an additional reduction, but that now appears to be the case. Next year, they will pay half of the lowered fee.
