Nynke maps the darkness

Due to increasing light pollution around us – from streetlights and billboards, for example – the darkness is disappearing. This affects (ncoturnal) animals, nature and our own biological clock, but also our experience of the starry sky. The project Donkerte van de Wadden (Darkness of the Wadden) tries to map how dark it actually still is and what we can see in the sky at night. UKrant teamed up with astronomy student Nynke Visser to count the stars.
