The grants have gone to Jana Hönke (arts), Irma Mosquera-Valderrama (law), Panos Merkouris (law), and Tina Kretschmer (behavioural and social sciences).

The Starting Grant, a personal subsidy, is intended to support talented academics for five years. The recipients are now able to use these funds to create their own research teams to continue working on their research.

Projects

Mosquera-Valderrama is researching what role the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) and the EU play in the creation of international fiscal legislation.

Panos Merkouris works on a project called ‘TRICI-Law: The Rules of Interpretation of Customary International Law’.

Hönke’s INFRAGLOB project researches how the models and experiences of players from subequatorial areas (Africa, Asia, and Latin America) redefine how economical hubs are being managed on a global scale.

Kretschmer is researching the transfer of peer experiences between social context, by looking at how adult romantic relationships and friendships are influenced by earlier peer experiences.
