After three years in Groningen, our student editor Ingrid is finishing her studies and moving to another adventure. That means cramming whole student life into two suitcases and saying goodbye to things she holds dear.
Like her porcelain dolls. ‘I got them in my first year here, from a lady giving them away’, she says. ‘They used to remind me of home, where I have an entire collection. I’m sad to let them go, but they just won’t fit.’
We think there are more students like Ingrid. Maybe you’re giving away a book that was so valuable to you, yet just can’t make it into your suitcase. Or you’re selling a fabulous vintage mirror you’ve had in your room forever, because it could never fit in a bag.
What are the things you leave behind painfully? And what did they mean to you? Take a picture and tell us the story behind it in a few lines. And we’ll immortalize it in our Farewell Archives, for the beloved things that can’t make it into the next chapter.
Send your pictures and stories to [email protected] before June 23. Mention ‘Farewell Archives’ in the subject line.
