The University of Groningen (UG) aims to be an ‘agile’ university — one that can quickly adapt to new developments. This is crucial, as the academic world faces constant changes and challenges. However, achieving this is not easy; the UG is a large, bureaucratic institution and, in reality, not very agile at all.
In short, the term ‘agile’ doesn’t quite capture the essence. It also sounds like a cliché and doesn’t roll off the tongue very well. Many within the UG feel the same way.
So, how could the UG better describe itself as a university that keeps a keen eye on the world around it and has the ability to respond effectively?
UKrant invites the academic community to think along. Do you have a better name or description? Send your suggestion by Friday, April 4 to [email protected] with the subject line ‘Agile University’ and get a chance to win a €25 VVV gift card!
